About us

A couple of educators, who were performing one-on-one tutoring to help students in their school subject areas, found that many of their clients lacked fundamental strategies and skills required for success on the ACT. Many of these students had no ACT prep at all or had insufficient training from teachers with no training in ACT preparation. Deciding that there must be many more ill equipped students and knowing that many of these students would not seek one-on-one tutoring, we extended our invaluable private instruction to small group and classroom size instruction. In doing so, we offer our services to more students and provide more hours per week of ACT prep than would be available in a one-on-one setting. Our goal is to see as many high school students as possible perform so well on the ACT that they not only obtain college admissions to the college of their choice, but also scholarships.

Why ACT Prep chicago?

We take a very thorough approach to learning. We designate 30-60 min for homework review where many classes expect students to solely check their homework with the answers in their books.

We review several questions from full length practice tests that we give students.

We train our students to know precisely their mistakes on questions they get wrong. In fact, we designate an entire class to reviewing tests that we administer. Other classes give tests but either don't review the questions students missed or only review a few questions.

Furthermore, when we issue tests, we use exams created by the ACT/SAT. This allows students to practice with the exact difficulty level of the ACT/SAT. Other classes create their own exams or use exams from test prep books not created by ACT/SAT. In some cases, these exams are easier than the actual ACT/SAT giving students a false since of achievement. In other cases, the exams are more difficult than the ACT/SAT, testing skills that are not tested on the ACT/SAT.

We prioritize quality over quantity but value the importance of both and encourage our students to practice as much as possible through classwork and homework. Our instructors are trained to provide ACT specific strategies, build content knowledge, motivate work ethic, increase testing efficiency and bolster confidence.

6 step plan for optimal success

1) Enroll in our beginners level small class instruction. It's an inexpensive way to get an introduction to the ACT/SAT, learn some basic skills and strategies.

2) Take a practice test to see how you have improved and areas where you need further improvement.

3) Take our intermediate level small class instruction that reinforces and helps students master the skills and strategies needed for success on the ACT/SAT.

4) Sign up for a national ACT/SAT testing date to try your newly acquired skills and strategies and get a better feel for the best way to continue your ACT/SAT preparation. 5) Obtain 1-on-1 tutoring to spend your remaining prep time working on your specific areas of need.

6) Sign up for another national ACT/SAT testing date and score your best!!!

*Classes are great but are taught for the majority of students, so there are times when the class will cover material that you have already mastered. Furthermore, most classes focus on students mastering basic material. If you want to get higher scores, you also have to master difficult skills in which 1-on-1 instruction can be very helpful.

*The 6 step plan works extremely well with sophomores and juniors since it takes a lot of time and effort to score really high on the ACT. An earlier start ensures the proper preparation time.
